Dr Mohammad Saiful Islam currently is working as a faculty member (Assistant Professor) in the department of Da'wah and Islamic Studies at the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC). He has over 12 years of teaching, research, translation and administrative experience at universities, International schools, and Islamic NGO levels in Bangladesh and Malaysia. His major research interest is in Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamic Shari'ah compliance in banking and finance, especially Shari'ah compliance auditing, Islamic education research and womens judicial leadership issues in a modern context. He completed his Doctoral thesis on “Shari'ah Audit in Islamic Banking and Finance An Comparative Study between Bank Islam Malaysia (BIMB) and Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL)”.
Dr Mohammad Saiful Islam did his First Master's in Da'wah and Islamic Studies (Islamic theology) at the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) in Bangladesh and Second Master's in Fiqh & Usul al-Fiqh (Islamic Law & Jurisprudence) at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Prior to starting his Ph.D., he served more than three and half years as an administrative assistant in the international student division at IIUM. He has published and presented more than 20 research papers & presentations in various journals, book chapters, conference proceedings, and magazines in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand on diverse areas of Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamic education and the Shari'ah compliance issues in Islamic banking and finance.
