Prof. Dr. Swapan Kumar Palit Joins IIUC Civil Engineering Department

Prof. Dr. Swapan Kumar Palit has joined the Department of Civil Engineering at International Islamic University Chittagong as a Professor. With a rich and distinguished teaching career spanning nearly 40 years, Prof. Dr. Swapan Kumar Palit joined the Department of Civil Engineering at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) in 1987. In 2004 he was appointed as a Professor in the same department. Prof. Dr. Palit completed his M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 1993 and earned his Ph.D. from the same institution in 2001. He earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology in 1985. Prof. Dr. Palit has published many research papers in reputed journals. He has also supervised and reviewed numerous thesis and research works at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. His notable research works include Laboratory Evaluation of Crumb Rubber Modified Asphalt Mixes, Reflective Cracking of Bituminous Overlays, Evaluation of Rutting Potential of Modified Bituminous Mixes, Rainwater as an Alternative Source of Drinking Water, Recycling of Reclaimed Bituminous Pavement Materials, Impact of Slag on Soil CBR for Pavement Layers and Use of Demolished Concrete in Bituminous Mixes for Low-Volume Roads.
